Welcome to Tender Heart Haven!

Tender Heart Haven was created to help care for the unwanted, unadoptable, ill, elderly and feral cats that have been discarded or are often times unable to fend for themselves. We are dedicated and committed to the compassionate, humane and caring support for these animals by providing temporary and/or permanent housing and shelter, food and water, medical care and rehabilitation. Those who become adoptable will be placed with loving families.

We are committed to solving the overpopulation problem. We work closely with a local veterinarian to help educate the community regarding the low-cost and no-cost spay/neuter programs available. Our efforts include distributing flyers and information to the community along with transportation for the animals, to and from the clinic, for spay/neuter appointments.

We also provide volunteer support for the feral cat trap-spay/neuter-return program in our community. We perform the humane trapping and transportation of the feral cats to the clinic. We then provide the after-care and recovery for the next 24-48 hours, before returning them. We also provide the short term care and housing for both feral mothers with kittens too young to be removed from the mother and also kittens old enough to be weaned but not yet old enough to be altered. When old enough, all kittens are then altered and adopted to loving homes.

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter..
the cast offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope,
Fear and dread,
Sadness and betrayal.

And I was angry.

"God", I said, "This is terrible!
Why don't you do something?"

God was silent for a moment,
and then He spoke softly,
"I have done something", he replied.

"I created you."
